just wondering if anyone has any clue on the 4.8l in my truck. was lokkin for forged internals and couldnt seem to find any.just wondering if the 5.3 or 5.7 stuff would work if changed the heads cause im putting the good 6.0l heads on it. thanks.

I don't think anyone shelves forged pistons for the 4.8, and the connecting rods are longer than 5.3/5.7 rods. Are you planning on milling those heads before you install them? Because if you don't your gonna drop your compression ratio to 8.4:1 and lose alot of power.

just use 5.3 heads and bore to a 3.905 bore. your rods are gonna be the issue. need to decide if you want a long rod or short rod. u will most likley have to wait on the rods and pistons to be made or ordered. IMO a forged 4.8 (even bored) is not worth the money. for the cash you will spend you can build a stout 6L to take whatever abuse you throw at it. my 4.8 is a daily driver. mods (in progress) are gonna be a stock motor, 01 z06 cam. cold air intake, midlength headers and maybe a small (matching) stall. and 3.73s.
that should be more than enough to make a truck owner happy. if not, well you shoulda bought an F-body
