I have a B&M 2400 stall and cut a 1.87 60ft on street tires, so I would say they are just as good as most, but certainly not the best.

Get some yellow LS6 springs from SDPC for less than a $100 bucks and they will work fine for that amount of lift.

The ls2 chain is good, but I think you confused the cadillac lifters with the ls7 lifters. The ls7s are the same as the ls2 (or standard) but unless the heads are coming off there is no need to worry about lifters.
LS6 springs are good for .550" lift, but aggressive lobes may put them at the limit.

alright well while were goin the springs and rods my dad brought up the point of y not change out the lifters with 80k mi on em for something outta the box. And the springs sound good, I dont see y .551 would make much a difference over .550.... so looks like LS6s new chain and the lifters and rods I picked. Thanks everyone

The lifters on LSx engines are contained under the cylinder heads. You can only change them while the heads are off. The ls6 springs may be OK, but some cams can have steep ramp rates at .551" lift and require stiffer springs.

ls6 springs are good for 0.570" lift, but you are right about aggressive ramps. gm uses these springs for their hot cam -- 219/228, 0.525" lift. and dont even worry bout the lifters, cause unless one is seized they wont make a difference. and your gonna want a higher stall convertor with that cam in a 4.8l

alright so bail on the lifters they're fine.. and if one was seized I'd obviously know about it right? or would it not be noticeable till I strip the old cam out? And the converter.. this is my DD and play toy so what converter should I run if the 2100 and 2400 are too small? and cost is an issue.. I dont really wanna spend over 250 for a converter.. but any help is much appreciated! Thanks guys

I doubt you will find a "good" converter for $250 bucks. maybe a used one but not a new one.

If you have to leave your stock one in for a little while and save for a good converter.

FYI- on the 918s, you arent going to get them right now unless you find them at a shop that stocks them. I'm going with a pretty serious LSK lobe custom ground cam and comp has informed me its going to be 2 weeks before I get the 8 replacement 918s for my exhaust valves.
