Default 2007 and newer truck owners with cam swap please step inside

Anybody with a 2007 or newer truck or suv with a aftermarket cam swap did you have any issues with vacuum?
Map sensor codes?
Service brake system messages?
Etc

Fighting this on my 2008 suburban and trying to figure out if this is a normal thing or if i have problems/issues elsewhere that need to be addressed.

No problems at all here, but I also have a custom tune... what size cam did you go with? I have heard of people having brake messages come up in the display on the dash.

224/230 112+3 .500
Its the NSR (no springs required) budget cam from BTR. I installed blue ls6 spring on it though while i had heads off replacing the lifters.

Its being custom tuned but he thinks it has a vac leak because of how low it is. Ive been all over it and done every trick i know of and cant find a thing.

always a chance of the intake manifokd gaskets leaking when you put it all back together. Not sure what intake manifold gaskets you used, but I like the metal ones with the thick silicone/rubber gaskets on each intake port! I’ve never had a issue out of them! Anyways about the cam, I don’t think it should cause any issues! Maybe the tuner can get it squared away!

Those are the gaskets i used.
Its been smoke checked, pressure checked, smoke with pressure, sprayed down around underneath and behind with brake cleaner, and tested with propane out of a hose to get into the nook and crannys.

Anyway you can get a vacuum reading on your truck for me?

mine stays at 11-12 on cold startup and once it’s warm it stays between 14-15. I wanna say my cam is around 220/224 .610 lift 114+3 lsa. somewhere in that range, maybe a few numbers off, but not much. I would think your cam should be similar on vacuum

What engine is this on? If a 5.3 or smaller your vac is gonna be significantly lower then stock. I would guess your map kpa is in the 70 range at warm idle. That cam is 3 deg overlap. If this is in a daily driver with a otherwise fairly stock setup that’s a poor cam choice. What stall speed converter?

Boosted2007- for reference your cam is -6 overlap, so 9 deg overlap less. That’s significant.

All your map code threasholds will need adjusted.

I have no vacuum issues that I know of. I installed the Texas Speed stage 2 cam. It is 212 218 112 LSA .550 .550 lift.

Vac is relative to cam size, overlap, engine size.

My cam is +11.5 overlap.

Zero codes. It's tuned.

I go back to the issue being with the tuner.
