Default 2004 5.3 piston in a 2000 block

I have a 2000 5.3 stock bore and everything. I found some 2004 5.3 pistons that the guy say they are from a aluminum 5.3. He also told me I could not use my 2000 rod with them. I thought that it was because I needed floating wrist pin rod but posted in the AD form where I was informed that 5.3 do not come with floating wrist pins.

So I guess the question is can I use the piston for the 2004 or not? If not why?

Thanks
Todd

Are they flat-top pistons?
As far as I know the L33 was first released in 2005. The pistons are not dished.

They are not from the L33 then. Sound like standard pistons.
