On Turbo's, boost pressure is regulated by a Wastegate. A waste gate is a small valve that redirects the engine exhaust around the turbo instead of through it.
Looks like this...

A waste gate opens depending on an internal spring pressure that pushes on a solenoid. So change the spring pressure and you can change the amount of boost you make. All that's necessary to change the pressure is an Allen wrench normally. There are also some that are electronic, you basically choose how much boost you want while in the driver's seat at a stop light. Anywhere from 1-2 psi to enough to blow your motor.

Electronic boost controller's look like this...

Thanks vey much! I'd never done any research on turbo's. I just remember the days when we'd have the converted GMC blowers on top and that's the look that grabbed me when I came back to hot rodding a few years back.

I googled "turbo charger Illinois" and it turns out that the guy in Port Byron that does dyno testing also sells and installs SST turbo's. I've been in contact with him lately to see about getting a tune.. prior to buying The Tuneing School program. He was very friendly and helpful and since I have a "go to guy" the turbo, with all it's advantages, just may be in my future.

Let's see.... a forged 440 with 20lbs boost = OMG hp!

go over to the ls1tech dyno and forced induction section, you can get an idea what it takes to make 1000hp with a blower,

Yes, I have Twin MP1900 TVS units.

There is no MP 3100TVS on the market....yet. Although it has been mentioned in the MP catalogue and talked about for over a year. There were some photos around from SEMA 2010 of a 3100 head unit - 3100TVS rotors, but the case did not look like a Magnuson product.

This is what I get when I google MP3100 TVS http://www.google.ca/images?um=1&hl=...l=&oq=&gs_rfai=

Try TVS3100

Lots of twin blower setups for boats. I believe this is the big block package that was in the white Avalanche.
