10.1 compression with 87 octane bad idea or not???

Sorry I was off, the stock cc's are 61. It looks like dropping 3cc's is going to raise compression almost a full point. (.89). You will be about 10.38:1 when you're done, on the high side for 87 but still possible.
Love to see some dyno results, thanks again!

How much cam are going to run? This will affect how much compression you will be able to get away with, a hotter cam will bleed more cylinder pressure allowing a higher compression ratio without detonation...that said, 10.anything to 1 isn't really that high, especially for an ls motor, so pump gas shouldn't be a concern.

Do you have any ball park idea how much hp & tq will be gained at the motor with a .8 compression jump?
Yall are right on the 93 octane. My friend and I just took his dodge hemi to taos for the weekend. 14 mpg at 70-75 with 87 octane & 16.3 mpg at 80-85 with 91 octane. We actually saved $4 a tank with the extra 50 miles we could go on a tank.
I think at most it was $8 more.
