I would stick with the truck intake, it will give you better torque and more perforamcen down low.

Yes, I'm going to stick with the truck intake for a couple reasons. First reason is the better torque down low. Biggest reason is all the stuff that needs to be changed to make it work. Didn't feel like doing the F body accessories or modify the fuel lines to make them work.

Yep, finished it last night. Put a baseline tune in it and it fired up and idled perfect. I'm welding in a bung so I can put my wideband in on Friday to get my cruise AFR nice and lean for the best fuel economy and get my WOT AFR where it needs to be, too. GM has a bad habit of having the air fuel at around 10:1 at WOT on stock trucks.....

I definitely like the way it runs. I will hook my car hauler up in the next couple days to see how it pulls.

Wait until you get to step on it and feel all the new TQ. I put in a 6L with a 210/218 .551 112lsa cam in. It pulls really hard and my Tahoe is about 6000lbs with me and a tank of gas in it. Get to tuning!

Oh, it feels really good. My startup tune was very close. On my scantool, everything looks pretty good but I know I'll be able to tweek the fuel tables and possibly put a little more timing in to make it run a little better yet and get better gas mileage. I got on it and it definitely pulls WAY harder than my 5.3 did. I'm liking it already... I'll post back once I get it tuned in perfect and post my fuel economy. I'm shooting for around 20 mpg or more highway and 17-18 around town. Right now, I'm at 16.6 around town which is OK but I think I can get more out of it.

Update.....

Well, I got to drive about 200 miles or so and my built 4L65E let go. I was pulling on to the highway and floored it from about a 10 mph roll. When it went to go into 2nd, the rpm's dropped like it went straight to 4th gear with lockup. Every shift before that was perfect. I have a feeling I'm going to have at least a broken sprag, broken front 5 pinion planetary, and a smoked convterter. Really sucks as I told the reputable trans shop to "do everything we need to do" to make it bullet proof. Trans shifted awesome but something that was reused obviously must have had an imperfection that caused a catastrophic failure.

Put the Av on my car hauler yesterday and had a buddy pull it to the trans shop 60 miles away. I already know he'll be charging me $200 more on the R&R and who knows how much for new parts AGAIN. Sucks. I already paid for: Beast sun shell, Beast input drum, Z pack 3-4 clutch pack, wide band, all new electronics (harness and solenoids), and pretty much every other wear part. I'm having flashbacks from my Camaro now.
