Default v6 "performance" numbers and real world mpg

Might not be the right place to ask this but anyone have 1/4 mile times with a v6 and real world mpg figures? Just curious how it compares to the v8.

I have a v6 rcsb, got ir back in Febreuary and right now it has 20k miles on the clock.

No 1/4 times here but mileage is a consistent 19/23 city/highway with a really heavy foot. It may not sound like much but I'm in México and we get worse mileage than in the US because of the smaller streets and heavy traffic.

The truck is fast for a v6, in fact it's almost as fast as a stock nbs 5.3. Just to give you an idea on how bad is mileage down here, back when my '06 was stock I was getting 13/16 mpg in city/highway conditions.

So far I'm impressed by this little v6.

cool man, thanks for the info. sounds like it might be a decent way to go for what I'm needing these days. v6 with a turbo sounds like it would be a fun driver or even without. any plans for power adders in the future?

I'd love to install a turbo but not going to happen as it's a company truck.

I'll install 3.90 gears and a BB tune as soon as it runs out of warranty. Shouldn't take more than a month as I've put around 5k miles/month so far lol

I have a new sierra rcsb with the 4.3, and I average 21mpg around town with some backroads driving.

Plenty of power when needed and I don't tow anything either.

Motor trend claims 15.8 at 88 in a single cab. That's faster than some of older v8 trucks.

Just my opinion but I think every pickup truck should have a v8 unless its a turbo v6 like the ecoboost or a diesel.

I used to think the same until I drove this new gen of v6 engines.

Don't get me wrong they can't match a v8 but it's the first time I've been impressed by a v6 on a truck.
