As I feared, those oncoming presets aren't available. We 8L90 folk have something kind of similar, that I've never messed with,...looks like Normal is Pattern X and Tow/Haul is Pattern Y.

My experience was the converter would constantly lock and unlock when it should be locked so the rpms would fluctuate a few hundred every couple of seconds. Very annoying on the highway. No vibration.

That's not what mine feels like. Good to know. Further testing on the way to work this morning reveals it isn't gear specific and it still does it with the TCC unlocked so I don't think it's really transmission related.

Check for broken engine mounts or exhaust hitting the frame somewhere... maybe?

My driver side header was hitting the frame when my driver engine mount wore out
