This trailer doesn’t have them. Truthfully the truck rode and drove great especially once I flipped the ball. It could really use some better gears. 3.42’s with 33’s just aren’t a good mix for towing. I left it locked in 4th just to keep it from hunting between 4th and 5th. RPM’s were about 3000rpm and it seemed to have plenty of power for most hills but still had to hit 3rd from time to time. I’m already working on talking the wife into a bigger truck. She took to this glamping thing quick.

A WDH would stop the sag and it’ll pull even better.

I did the helper bags and it was a big difference! I also did the bag cradle so that the bag isn’t bolted to the axle, just the frame. That way if I go off road or anything ,( put the truck on my lift) I don’t have to worry about pulling the bags apart.

Gears will do more for the bottom end than a blower and will be easier on the whole truck in general. Blower is going to add a ton of heat and stress on parts while towing.

Loaded up the 93 octane tune this morning and that seemed to solved my power issues. Had trouble keeping it under 80. Set the cruise at 70 and left it in 5th and she pulled like a dream.

Until I looked down at the voltmeter and it was showing 10v so looks like I get to do an alternator replacement.

Sure it isn’t the variable charging at work?

Do what? I rarely ever look down at that gauge. I checked it after we stopped for a while and it’s showing 14v again so I’ll keep an eye out. Just can’t have it leave mama stranded. I don’t want that phone call.

Ever since 2005-06, our trucks have the ability to cycle the alternator off/on while running.

It was developed as a way to cut load on the engine and increase fuel economy.

Unless it’s causing an issue, it’s probably working as designed.
