Test Drive
Well I've been talking to the local dealership for a couple weeks, right now I've got a 2014 Sierra 1500 SLT in my driveway. I'm taking it on an "extended test drive" for a couple days.
Pretty impressed with the truck and the quality. Some items I don't like, lots of bells and whistles that are just going to break down the road.
I'd pull the trigger on one, but I'm at a moral aggravation at GM and the lousy rebates. $1500 for the SLT's, why bother.
I'll wait till August, see if they change (they probably wont). I know the '15's won't have any rebates. Might have to wait for the new F-150's to come out and see if GM gets their head out of their @$$ and provides more rebates.
I even get GM Employee discount, but I remember getting a TON off my last truck. I guess I'm a cranky old man, even at 29 years old

Or maybe (and this is just a guess) people like saving cash. I'm guessing you'd rather spend $42K than $48K on the same truck. Same principle applies to everything. I'm more inclined to buy something when it's on sale than when it's not on sale. It's really not a matter of affordability.

I agree with this. Regardless of rebates if you want it and can afford it buy it. You only live once so why cheap out on yourself if you can afford it. Either ways new vehicles these days are not meant to be cheap
