Those of you that have color matched your bumpers, how much did you pay? I will be doing this soon and have two quotes pretty far apart. I know you get what you pay for in paint, but I also don't want to get ripped off either.

get them wrapped. cheaper and last longer. that is what I plan on doing

 

Good idea but what about the grill to black it out?

 

Mine are painted but for the rear I would wrap the chrome because every time u use the step it rubs the upper lip where the chrome and plastic cover meet thus rubbing the paint off.

 

I payed 500 grill pieces,tailgate handle, and both bumpers
Make sure they used the epoxy primer and get the chrome sanded real good

 

Sammy did you have the dealer do it or the local body shop?

For me, This is something I would want the dealer to do.

 

Local body shop and im not too sure if dealer would warranty it?

 

My experience is that not all dealers are the same, any more than all body shops are the same. You have to know the shop's people and their work, or get some references from other customers that you trust.

 

I called my local shop that does excellent work, and they said the plastic/chrome bumper is thin, and when they scuff it up the bumper will be more prone to rock chips etc...

They said for best results to put on a clear bra before installing the bumpers to protect the painted area-- and with them off the the bra company can hide the lines. They have done a couple of trucks-- no 14's yet but they are already getting a couple of requests.
