New DD 2014 Crew Cab Sierra

Its not apples to apples from texas to new york on truck prices. Yes it cost more than I wanted to spend but I really like the front end better on the GMC's than the silverados. After driving it I all the cadillac type features are pretty cool also. I sold my 2009 for my asking price so that helped with the decision on which one I was going to get. My original plan was for the 6.2 but the fact that no dealership would give you an upfront price because delivery time was so far out made going with the cheaper 5.3 and blower a better option.

6.2s are what??? An extra 1800 when building a new truck. I think it's worth it for the extra power, resale and manhood. Lol. Especially since I am already sworn to turbo it. If I'm spending close to 50k for a truck, the added expense of the 6.2 isn't something I would down grade.
I'm very jealous of all to guys w 2014s.

Well not exactly its a $3k option bump because you have to get the max trailer package. Also, it only comes in certain trim models. The other problem and the main reason I went with the 5.3 is that there is a 6-8-12 week time frame on delivery and dealerships will only apply rebates at time of delivery. So basically you set all the terms of the deal except the purchase price of the truck, which at most dealerships is msrp, and gamble on what the actual price would be. Also because its an either or with rebates or finance rates it adds and extra unkown variable. In my case they wanted to pay X for my trade, provide y for a rate, and msrp on a fully loaded SLT GMC. I planned on just ordering one which was the case when I bought my SS back in 08, but with dealerships treating the 6.2's like special edition vehicles and not really negotiating with them I didn't feel it was worth the extra hp/tq for almost $8k-10k.
Now if we want to talk about bragging rights and manhood my little DI 5.3 with a tvs1900 will spank a 6.2 like its sitting still. I am actually planning on getting some baseline runs with 87 and e85 this friday to how much I gain with the blower. A buddy of mine of the forums is also going in his single cab so we should have some good data for singlecab/regcab, 87/e85, and stocktires/terragrapplers/drag radials. Then I will rinse and repeat once the blower is on in the next couple of weeks.

Jesus. 8-10k. That's a huge game changer! My comment about 6.2 is that doing mods to both motors or leaving them alone. The 6.2 will make more power that's all. But for 8-10k, you can put any power adder you want on the 5.3. Lol. That's crazy!

I guess you can build it online but of the 7 different dealerships I went with all sold the 6.2 with the max trailer option. Honestly if you think your going to get a 6.2 on base model truck I think you might be mistaken. Also, like I said before it was the availability and the price fluctuation because of time of delivery that was my issue.
I just filled up the tank with e85 and got her washed for fun at the track. Well see if she breaks 15's lol. I am going to datalog the runs also with some gopro vids.
