Default My 2014 Silverado Thread

Hello, I am Andrew if you guys haven't figured that out already lol, I Just got a 2014 crew cab silverado 5.3 2wd. Before this i had a 2004 silverado extended cab, 5.3 2wd basic bolt ons, lowered in the rear, mildly built trans ext.

Figured i would start a thread on this truck. I have always been on the sight, but never posted or signed in.

2014 Chevy silverado 5.3 LT crew cab short box. Has caption seats, heated cloth seats, my link, nav, and all that. Has the 20s with paint match mirror caps and door handles, tow package ext.

I had the Trinity T-1000 on my other truck, Kept it and updated it for the 2014 when i got it. So truck currently has that, A custom cat back exhaust that consist of, 3inch from factory ball flange to a Spintech sportsman muffler, dual 2.50 out to dual tail pipes that lead to the factory location with dual angle cut double wall stainless 4in tips laid on there sides and lined up with the body line. Truck was dropped of this evening (8/26/13) to Injen Performance in Pomona, CA for them to use it for R&D for a intake system for these trucks. When i got the truck, i sent emails out to multiple exhaust company's here in SO-CAL and intake company's to see if i could get it in for some R&D. Injen was one of the ones that got back to about using the truck, I should have it back Friday evening, and should have some dyno numbers. Dyno will be on stock tune with only a exhaust, and a run with stock tune, and intake and exhaust.

Mods:
Cat-Back
Intake (coming soon)
Rear factory lift blocks removed
Tint
Trinity T-1000 Tuner
De-Badge
HIDS

Enough of the talking, On to the photos & Video

Congrats on the new truck. Are you running a custom tune threw the trinity or the stock canned diablo tunes it comes with? I wonder how much the cat back added alone. Do you have any audio/video clips? I bet it sounds good.

Great looking truck, great photos and a great write up, Andrew! I also agree with Vortec350ss about the look of the exhaust tips - very cool.

What gear ratio did that come with?

Thanks for all the good info, and please keep it coming. There's a lot of curiosity here about the '14s.

Thanks for all the compliments! really appreciate it!

Gearing:
Tow package came with the 3:42's or something like that. I cant remember exactly what it was, I will prob rear gear it later on. These trucks are not huge power makers on the low end, but once they get into the RPMS they just start pulling like freight trains. I know stock power on 87 oct is 355/387 and E85 is said to be 380/418. I have yet to run E85 in it yet.

I am running the Basic Can tune (87) with HARD trans tune selected with the shift firmness bumped up on part and WOT. I was running this file with the DOD (4cyl) mode tuned up, but the truck still tried to go into 4cyl motor at random and would set off a light. I am working with the guys over at Diablo and there trying to fix it, and will be sending me a custom tune to test out and report back. Here is the thread link on that.

Here are the Youtube video links for the exhaust, Make sure to listen on Headphones or good speakers to get a feel for really how deep it is.

dang, only 11-12% drivetrain loss in hp to get 305 rwhp with stock being 355hp, that's pretty dang good
