Aww hell that 6.2 won't blink at that weight. With my old 08 6.2 I pulled my 7,000 pound wake boat and loaded a lifted the golf cart in the bed of the truck all the time. These new 6.2's make torque so much better you'll be surprised how good it does. Just pull it around the block and you'll see what I mean.

With the 3.42's I'm rated at 9600lb trailer or 11,500 gcwr with the factory hitch. I'm used to towing with HD diesels where I never come close to maxing out so being at 80% of max weight towing makes me concerned. The engines power is of little concern where I am. It's the truck itself. Thankfully I've got the trailer brake controller on the truck so that makes it a little better.

If I can pull a heavy *** rollback with a full weight plus trans am (full option ta with big rear end and an iron motor so probably 3800 lbs) on it with a 2004 5.3 truck that had a 4L60 and tiny brakes, you can pull that trailer and blazer. I hear ya on being concerned with being close to max weight though, at least you're thinking about that and playing it safe. But again, if you go slow and easy you should be just fine.

Nothing wrong with that and I hear ya on the towing with half tons. I always thought they were big trucks since I used to be a car person, till I towed with them.
Just grab a janky *** uhaul 2 wheeler, it'll keep the weight down

He has a 5.3, which also has a smaller rear end and lower tow rating.. however it would probably still be okay. You'd definitely feel the weight and you'd wanna go slow for when you have to stop it won't take a mile.

His signature shows 2014 6.2 so if he has 3.42's like I do it's 9600 I think. I used to have a built trans 2008 duramax with everything but turbo and injectors. These new 6.2 feel similar to what that duramax pulled like. It sits right there at 1800 rpm's at 60 to 65 and just pulls and only down shifts for really big hills. And when it does down shift it's one gear to 4 at 2300 rpm or so. And just goes right up the hill.
It's not like the old engines where your screaming up a hill at 4000 rpm's. Or like my old 6.2 would down shift at every little mole hill.

It's all a moot point really. Can't find a trailer wide enough to hold this thing and I have no desire to buy a spare set of wheels and tires right now. So off on a 6hr round trip i go to pick it up.
