i don't think there is a trans on the market besides the 80e that can take the abuse bone stock that we give these trucks. maybe if they put the alison behind them.... even the 80e needs a shift kit and what not. from what i have seen the 6l80e does a great job at holding as long as people don't **** the tuning away. it seems to be very particular in the tuning aspect.

on gm's website it looks like only the ext cab and crews come with the 6.2. it says 4.3 and 5.3 available for reg cab.

This might give everyone a good idea of what to expect for the truck 6.2s, edmunds-dynos-the-2014-chevrolet-corvette-stingray-z51.

6L80Es can handle the abuse if tuned right. I pushed mine for 2yrs ranging from 600rwhp up to 800rwhp in my Denali still kicking too.

Your assessment has no facts to back it. The direct-injected Gen V has significantly (nearly full point) higher compression across the board plus a much more precise injection cycle, resulting in a much flatter torque curve at lower rpm. The new 6.2 LT1 in the 2014 Corvette, for example, matches the 7.0 LS7 in the 2013 Z06 for torque to 4000rpm. Since the new torque rating equals or betters 450lb/ft (as opposed to the GMT900 6.2's 417) and the new engine doesn't rev higher than the old engine, the facts dictate that this engine will have noticeably better low-end torque than the current model.

Working at a dealer, I can say that they won't be putting a 6.2 in a RCSB in the near future.
