The new engines have much better torque curve. I am more interested in why the big drop off from the vette. Are we getting crappy heads again compared to the vette motor?

Same weight and C/D has it at 6.7 seconds 0-60. 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 5.3L 4x4 Crew Cab Test – Review – Car and Driver[/url]

I'm sure there is some calibration differences as well due to the fact that the 6.2 L86 truck has more possibility of being loaded to max weight and beyond with a trailer on the back and being held at WOT while climbing a mountain, whereas the Vette LT1 might climb that same mountain at WOT, but will only see a fraction of the stress due to much less weight involved. Probably a bit extra fuel and less WOT advance on the L86 vs the LT1.
Unfortunately GM has to plan for the worse case scenarios in order to get their powertrains through the warranty period as inexpensively as possible.

Should perform well right out of the box. Im sure looking forward to members dyno/track results. I havent spent a ton of time reading up on it yet but tuning the DI has its issues.... Its not so easy to simply drop in a bigger injector and scale for it. I wonder what the power limits of the stock injectors is going to be....
