The Encryption has been cracked already. They are "tuneable".

The Issue is the Patent's GM holds on the hardware and software it contains. Between that and the EPA crack downs, Those who can, don't want to be the 1st to find out what will happen. The mere mention of it on EFILive's forum ends with the thread locked or even removed. They don't want anything to do with it.

What would be awesome is if they would do a factory turbo setup on the 5.3.

I wish they would have made a rcsb 4x4 or 2wd with the 6.2. Remove a certain appearance package for hotrodders.

Hate that my 18 has a key and no start/stop tech. Also as I am saving for my Cam/DOD/AFM delete. I hope HP tuners lets go of tuning the tcm so I dont have to send it to them to unlock. Also interesting that the 6.2s will come with 10 speed and no longer off the 8s. Damnit.

Why do you say that about the 10 speed? For all intents and purposes the 8 speed has been a failure.

The 8 speed has done the job in cars from what I hear but I guess in trucks the tuning has been an issue? It would take a 6.2 10 spd for me to give up my close to paid for truck. At least that's my story right now lol. Guess my 6 spd with a 6.2 transplant could work too.

What I don’t understand is why it’s so awesome in the camaro’s and vettes. I realize they have failure rates too, but as far as performance goes, jesus, the 8l90 renewed my faith in automatics. The 1-2 shift feels like you were rear ended by a bus.

Something that’s lost in marketing

Auto4 is the same thing as awd, infact it’s a way better system since you can have your pick, 2wd, awd, 4hi, 4lo

On top of that it’s pretty reliable and seamless.

i dont get it whats this fascination with AWD ? auto 4wd is waaaay superior and more choices its up to you this is the only reason why i have a Yukon Denali instead of the srt durango.

That's what I've been wondering, here I see people saying they are junk but AMP is pushing over 1400 to the tires through a stock 8 speed in their shop car. And they have built many at over 1000 that hold up and keep holding. I'm sure some have had issues but their are a lot that have been going for a very long time at really high power levels.
