Default All electric

So GM announced they are ditching internal combustion by 2035. That's just 14 years away. Do they not realize that electricity isn't free not even solar? I don't dislike the idea of an 8 second 1/4 mile car (if you can afford 140k) but that really sucks. How long before they try to take our guns too, even sooner? As an old white guy I feel screwed anyway nowadays. They can suck it far as I'm concerned. If I'm in the wrong section please move it.

Not too worried. That means at least another 14yrs with the cars I love before they try to force me off the road with them

there will be at least 2 administrations in that time too, things could change

wont happen, there is not enough infrastructure to support Cali's wet dream of this.
pretty sure that is what is pushing GM

heck Cali said they wont allow sales of new gas vehicles after 2030.
pretty funny since they dont have enough capacity to support household electricity in their state now.
let alone after giving everyone EVs LOL.

what is it 1/3 (or more) of their electricity comes from other states. bet they dont tell anyone that tidbit

By 2035 you young white males will have it built with forced day labor.
Nighttime will consist of deprogramming in the "critical race theory" encampments.

Nobody is going to take anybody's guns away. But you will soon only be able to buy nerf bullets. Oh no, nerf bullets are made out of plastic and that comes from oil obtained by fracking. I guess you will have to carve bullets out of mesquite.

It's just disappointing that they think this move will solve the world's pollution issues. Asian countries will continue to pollute anyway and lie about it. And no they're not even getting my guns. Enjoying the comments lol.

I’ve read multiple articles that have said that even if the world went to 100% electric vehicles across the globe and all IC engines were shut off, it would only account for 3-6% of the pollution in the world. But this is what happens when you let lobbyists scare people and influence policy. Happens on all issues.

You guys are looking at it the wrong way lol. Of course an electric fleet of vehicles doesn't solve the problem of pollution....but it solves GM's problem of pollution. And Ford's. And Chrysler's. They're in business to make money, not save the world. And if the EPA starts to look away from the manufacturers because their products themselves no longer pollute, then the manufacturers win. The BEV recharging load at night causing brown-outs isn't the manufacturer's problem.
