Call circle D man. They make excellent stalls and don't break the bank.

Damn. A dude on here said he got one from them for $600 for a 6L80. But a good converter isn't cheap. Maybe call them and see if they have a converter that is better than stock but not a billet unit or something of that nature.

The new fluid is supposed to help a lot. And yes I believe it is Mobil 1 that makes it. I shared the link a while back I'll try to find it.

This is the new fluid
https://mobiloil.com/en/automatic-tr...etic-lv-atf-hp

Lots of guys in this 9 page thread saying the fluid cured the issue
https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/top...ssue/#comments

I have also cured customer complaints with the newer transmissions in these trucks by going in and resetting the trans adaptives in the TCM with the scanner. The adaptives is the learn, sometimes they learn in funky conditions and cause poor shifting and need to be reset and relearn how to shift right. I would do the fluid flush and reset adaptives and let the trans relearn how to shift etc with the new fluid. Especially since the new fluid will change things. Reset the adaptives and drive around nicely for a couple of days letting the trans watch itself and adapt. With the new fluid and adaptives it should be nice driving trans.

Had a truck with a 6L80 in here a few weeks back that would lock the back tires on the highway if you went heavy acceleration, it would do okay on light accel but if it had to down shift and go it would lock the tires then go. It was crazy as hell. The customer stated he took it to all the dealerships in dallas for the last 7 years and nobody could get it right. I reset the adaptives and he came in happy as hell and said it felt new and the truck had had the shifting issue since he bought it off the lot brand spanking new.

actually i did the fast relearn with HP tuners and today i took it for a 20 mile drive and it didnt do it. sunday i drove it 100 miles and it did it every 4 sec for a few sec each. the rpm scan looked like a heart monitor. monday same thing and i did the fast relearn. tuesday it wasn't as bad and today not at all. so hopefully it was just the learning. I didnt know about the fast learn so i didnt do it after getting the tcm back from hp. its at the dealer now. i bet 99% chance it wont do it for them. i already bought amsoil to flush the system befor any of this. havent done it yet. dont know if i should use the amsoil or buy the mobil 1. if it comes down to it i will call Circle D. they only list the billet ones online. i wounder if i should upp the stall at all. its just a daily driver. ill probably do headers at some point but dont think ill do a cam. I have a 17 Camaro SS that i mod.

I don't know what a fast learn is

Clearing the adaptives starts it all fresh. I would absolutely do that.

Use the Mobi1 hv that is specifically for this issue. I linked a 9 page thread with tons of people saying the mobil fixed the shudder and they are very happy now finally. I don't know why you'd want to try something else after seeing that.

the transmission will work all the clutches and solenoids so it can learn faster. takes 10min. You scan tool has to have it. there is also a clear presets, clear adaptives and cleaning mode. there is 5 thing you can make it do.
