Want to upgrade the output of my factory headlites or retrofit to the optional factory LED if possible 2017 SLT / All Terrain

What aftermarket kits have most found to be a good option ??


This is one I'm considering, good reviews on install brightness etc just don't know how reliable long term just want to do this once

your 17 should already have factory HIDs, that kit from retrofit is for the 14 and 15s that came with halogen bulbs standard.
If you still want to i had that kit installed in my old 2014 sierra it worked great for a year and a half then took a **** and after many hours of trouble shooting, emails and phone calls to retrofit i could not find the problem and went back to stock. then i traded the truck for a 2017 sierra.

other than they stopped working, i hated that majority of the harness, relays and connectors are all on the passenger side where there is no room. instead of the driver side where there is a ton of room. they do it to be closer to the battery, but if the kit starts ******* up you have to remove the air box over and over while trouble shooting.

im not sure there would be much if any real benefit to going LED, maybe longevity. not sure if they are brighter or not.

 

Good to know re the Retrofit kit TKS ......... yes my 17 has HID std on SLT truck on order don't have it yet but assumed they not great

the LED option was in a pkg with stuff I did not want and was $$$ so passed cant find anyone who has that option and or can compare to the factory 2017 HID

So are you saying the 2017 HID are better than early K2 trucks

Hoping something better had come on market

 

The stock HIDs are awesome. You won't need to upgrade. If you have fog lights those are also wicked bright.
