anybody have any issues with the locking gascap on their trucks? I keep getting small and large evap leak codes and a tighten gas cap message but the cap only turns one click before it stops moving. I cleared the codes and it came back in a day

 

is this a factory gas cap. this is pretty common with aftermarket ones.

 

Im the second owner, but this seems to be the factory cap with the instructions about tightening to one click only. Ive debated getting another gas cap. I may have it checked out while im at my father in laws for thanksgiving. He has a solid diag tool that we can run the vaccum pump with to see if the system is holding vaccum or if there is an actual leak in the lines somewhere.

I had this happen with a previous vehicle but its when we parked outside more often. During the fall the yard critters decided one of the vaccum lines was an acorn and chewed right through it.
