2014 sierra 8" screen swap

Default 2014 sierra 8" screen swap

has anyone on here done a 4" to 8" screen swap?
have a 2014 gmc sierra rcsb and came with a 4" screen ,friend of mines just got his slt wrecked and planning on taking of his to put in mines insurance is most likely going to total loss it anyways just wanted to see if its possible by just swapping screens or what other steps if any i have to take any inside info will help lmk thanks
also does anyone know if the led lights can be swapped with just plug and play or do i have to get a special harness?

I've read that you'll need the screen and the module as well then get it reprogrammed at the dealer

the truck has the screen and module planning on swapping both just dont know if it will work right up without programming it or anything!

If insurance takes the truck, you can't take anything from it. Maybe they deduct it from the check you get if they see stuff missing??

Not sure if you have to change out the HMI module for the 8" screen or not....or if that's just the Nav part.

Anyway...that's a complete "how to" if you are able to do the swap.

pulled the lights off yestarday looks like the slt plug and the lights has a couple more prongs than mine, installed them and headlights work along with the high beams and signal lights but cant get the leds to turn on or work like they should, they look way better on mine tho lol post a pic later, anyone have some inside on this? or am i the only person ever to try this with a million trucks out there?
