Default 2014 Exhaust

Hey guys,

Anyone know if the 2014 6.2's have different size exhaust tubing than the 5.3's.

The gmt900's did.

Thanx in advance

Yesterday I picked up a 2014 Denali 6.2L and realized after I got home that the chrome exhaust tip was not installed. I called the dealer about it and was asked to measure my exhaust because "there is a 3" and 3.5" exhaust".

I don't know if that is the difference between 5.3L and 6.2L, but apparently there are two different exhaust sizes (related to the dealer-installed chrome tip?) for some reason.

Sounds about right... I would guess there are different sizes and the 6.2 is a 3.5.

6.2 is 3"
When GM first started shipping the chrome tips they were sending out 3.5" by mistake.

So it went down in size? NNBS 6.2's had 3.5" exhaust...

Interesting... I mean a nice straight through muffler and a well designed 3" system will be plenty for this thing.

Can not seem to find that message from GM or any specs in SI but general consensus is 2.75" on the 5.3 and 3" on the 6.2. Someone on another forum reported measurements of 3" and 3.5" throughout the length of the 6.2, meaning it steps up and down as it passes through the individual components.

Makes sense because my nnbs had a 3 in center section and the muffler was 3 in inlet but went down to a 2.75 muffler outlet and tail pipe.

Thanx for the replies,
I have a 2014 denali 6.2 coming in next week for exhaust and I'll let you know what size it is.

I have done 5.3's already and there are the same size as previous, 2.75 inch oe
