Im sure you could probably swap phasers and tune accordingly. Might be your easiest and cheapest solution, just saying....

It is a pain that you have the wrong core for sure but Im pretty sure you could simply do this. if you put a wanted ad up over on tech for the correct phaser ( maybe ecm too? ) for the one matched to your core theres lots of guys watching who will probably have what you need for cheap. not many people mess with VVT so theres a lot of available parts.

What valve springs are you running? Whats the cam specs?

Thanks for the suggestion, that is a great idea. I've already got all of the parts on the way to delete these. Now i just need to get the cam replaced.

I'm running some performance valve springs from comp. p/n 26915-16. They're good for up to about a 560 lift which is what I'll go with the new cam.

Those springs will work fine with VVT, but not AFM for anyone else who may stumble in here looking for answers

According to the guy building my tune, I can get another 40hp from a non-AFM cam.

.500 lift is stock. I'm looking for more lope.

So I guess I can get another 40 from the non-AFM cam, 20 from changing fuels for a net of 60?? lol, not trying to be a smart ***.

My specs are going to be a 222/224 112 duration with .566 intake lift and .568 lift on the exhaust side.

Oh, and I talked with COMP cams today. They're refunding me. No extra hook-ups. They'll pay shipping to take the Cam back.

Good deal. Did you decide what direction you are going to go in relation to putting another bumpstick back in it. VVT/ NON VVT.

Comp is good people dealt for years with them and they will go the extra mile to help out.
