Default What longblocks would be an easy swap?

There hasn't been much talk of engine swaps on NNBS trucks yet. Can older GenIII engines be swapped in? I know the knock sensors are in different locations and the cam sensor I think. My truck is a 5.3L with AFM. I was thinking an LS2 for a Trailblazer might be the most direct swap. Not sure about the 6.2L with VVT. By direct I mean re-using the stock 5.3 intake manifold, TB, same styles injectors. Also bolting back to the 4L60E's. Any input?

Im mainly wondering what at minimum it would take to put in a Gen. III engine. LQ9 or LQ4 6.0 without the dod crap.

Im looking for more specifics. What about the reluctor wheels? I read they are different, but not sure what is involved with this issue. As far as harness work, do you mean at the knock and cam sensors?

A 4.3 would be a little more involved. If it were me I would just work with the 4.3, maybe go turbo. I have always wanted to do that with a 4.3. It might be cheaper to sell yours and get a v8 powered truck to start with, unless your good with wiring.

well i really dont wanna do anything with the 4.3...plus FI is expensive. idk how expensive for a 6 but i'd rather just swap in a 6.0 and be happy. Anybody know what all is needed?

I think in 06 they changed the reluctor wheels...so sticking with a 06+ LS2 would be the most direct swap. 6.2 wont accept your intake.

Thats good to know. I think a stock or cammed LS2 would be nice with full bolt-ons.
