Default What headers now that calspeeds didnt fit does a cated y make it sound quieter

I have a vortec max with 2300 magna charger ls9 cam,STOCK EXHAUST was told with the maggie if i put headers on i could see 40 50 horse is this realistic.I like my truck quiet but IF i would use the ARH HEADERS with cats would it be quiet.I thot of putting a 6.2 exhaust on which is 3.5 leave stock muffler and resinator.MY TRUCK has the 2.75 exhaust WITH RESINATOR cuz mines a MAX and i have tail pipe out the back.WOULD IT PAY TO SWITCH CAT BACK OR JUST PUT HEADERS ON AND CALL IT A DAY.>What gains am i lookin at with headers 1 7/8 catted...The ARH are awesome but kinda pricey dont know if i will gain !!!

Ours wont fit the 4x4 NNBS so i think your options are Kooks / ARH etc

Is your truck a GMT800 or GMT900? I don't see engine size in your OP?

Yes, you'll definately have some NICE gains with ARH.

I have 1 7/8" Kooks with their catted-y pipe on my Z28 and it sounds very deep and damn good but it is loud and not something I'd personally want if it was my daily driver, especially with a cam. the cats help cut the nasty rasp that you'd get with no cats but the noise level is pretty darn loud still. it probably would be bearable through the factory catback but don't expect it to be anywhere near as quiet as stock.

One of my friends has catted ARH on his 2000 silverado, 5.3 with trucker cam, and MP112 at 10 psi. He's running a large case Magnaflow, single 3" in, dual 2.5" out. It's got a GREAT sound outside the vehicle, but it's nice & quiet inside during all types of normal driving. No problem whatsoever to drive all around town & carry a conversation.
