Tune vs Warranty
#61
My step dad has a lifted 07 silverado and the tranny started messing up so he took it in. Well the dealership said it was the lift. its a pro comp that was installed professionally... The dealer never seen the tune just kept blaming it on the big tires and lift.

Or just keep telling you "It's Normal" until you give up and go away, lol.

On a 6 speed truck it would work on the engine but not the transmission considering you reall can't change out the TCM in a moments notice...... Unless you like pulling apart the valve body.
Local dumbass dealer has tried to deny warranty work on 3/4 tons because " You have pulled trailer with it"...... No jerkoff..... I bought a 2500 HD to drive around empty it's entire existance. That service manager quit to go run a coil tubing truck..... good place for the meat monkey.

EDITED for accuracy. Don't mean to post wrong information, just passing along what I've read.

If you read this whole thread or did any other research, you would find out that swapping ECMs is still detectable, if they really tried hard enough, by comparing the ECM mileage to the cluster mileage, atleast that's what I've read. And for me, while tuning the engine has big advantages, tuning the transmission is also just as important for me. A tuned transmission is a joy to drive compared to stock.

My denali has 35k miles, it has a mild cam and a tune and full bolt ons. It just recently threw a rod thru the block. I had it coming when I bought the damn thing already modified. More than likely I am going to have to pay out of my pocket to get it fixed. TSP 418? :-D
