Default Transmission shifting alot harder than before.

Alright. Around this time last year, I put my servo in my truck and got my black bear tune. Durning the tune I couldn't spin 1-2. But over the year that has past, my truck will chirp the **** out of the tires when it shifts into second and it doesn't even have to be wot.

So my questions are.

1) Could this be slowing me down at the track also? Or not really enough to improve/decress my time

2) Could this be bad on my tranmission? I know Justin said a firm shift is not bad but if it gets to hard it can do damage.

3) Should I get a re tune and get it brought down some?

Why would it shift harder after a while? Parts starting to loosen up and fit better or something?

Mine does the same thing. I chirp 2nd most of the time at half throttle. Waiting on your answers too.

When I first got the tune it wouldn't do it. It will surprise you how hard it shifts now.

Its raining here and I can shift at like 3-4 grand it will still spin the tires barely giving it throttle. Its not fun when all of the sudden my *** end jerks left or right lol

Maybe temperature? I know temperature affects my shift firmness. Not really sure. I know my truck with the shift kit shifts firm, but a Silverado with a C Servo and a tune shouldn't be hitting that hard. Only thing is the 4L60Es have a learning ability that changes certain characteristics according to driving style, but I was under the impression that most tuners made it quit doing that?

My driving style is pretty mixed. Most of the time when I'm driving thru town, my rpms stay low and hardly get over 2 grand. But then sometime I like to drive like a dick and get on it buts not very often.

it could be your part throttle shift pressure. you can adjust it through the tune. i use to have a HARD *** 1-2 shift but Truckshop fixed that. i have a bigger motor now, so i have to up the WOT shift pressure for it now.

id just get with Justin, and see if he can come up with an idea on this..maybe just lower the shift pressure a little.

i see you're in Athens, Tx...my family is from Rusk, Alto. i think my brother just moved to Athens....i may have to come drive up for a visit and meet you for a lil race

You would kick my ***. I've seen your videos. Your 6.2 would own my 5.3's ***. But yea, anytime you want to come down and hang out with your brother I would love to see how it feels to go fast in a real truck lol.

And yea I've talked to you before on gmfs before I believe. Here is a picture of my truck. (refresh your memory.)

I actually had take down the 3-4 rpm shift firmness. Well I planned on getting headers before he is back in Dallas and then getting him to look at it again. I'll have to wait till July though.

Mine did the same thing as well... Except i tuned it my self lol. When i first tuned it after the vette servo, it seemed like i couldn't get it to shift hard enough. I kept adding more pressure till it felt about right, and nowadays it seems to shift too hard! I just haven't done anything about it yet lol. I just thought i'd chime in cuz mine did the same thing. Also, i disabled all the self learning in the tune so it can't be that. Honestly, i think its cuz our trannys are used to slipping with the factory servo and tune, and the clutches and bands just hadn't gotten hard yet till we actually put some pressure to them.
