how are you guys painting your GMC emblems?

 

was worth the effort. might hit you up for a couple pics of how you mounted it once I finally cough some money up for one

Its an eBay billet insert. I think I got the main and lower for about 100 bucks shipped. I knew I would be cutting them up, so I didnt want to spend too much if I made a mistake.

 

How did you remove the stock grill to put in the insert? I am interested in doing something similar with my 4 bar grill in the future, just need to figure out how to remove it so it doesnt have the typical insert over grill look that i see so much in MN.

 

 

I cut out the entire insert, and was only left with the U shaped shell. Then just sanded down the points where it mounted to the shell, had it painted, and went from there.

 

Or are you just talking about how it take it off the truck?

 

I was wondering if it just came apart or if you actually cut it apart. Sounds like you cut it up to get it to what you have now. Was the u shaped outer part of the grill chrome before you painted, so you painted it black to match the truck?
