^ Solid advice. Depends how far you want to take things, you'll have to have it tuned again for the converter.

Im sure the 3 disk would be wise but I asked Chris at Circle D and he said the 278mm 2600 rpm would be fine for my non race daily driver application. I dont have a grand to spend on it. $500 for the 278mm. Im not going to up the psi. Other then adding leather I think I got the truck just how I want it.

If you get right down to it, your stock converter would be just fine for your daily driver, non race truck. Factor in the price of having your converter installed before you decide.

If you go with a single disc, you will need your tuner to tweak the lock/unlock tables considerably so you don't smoke the converter clutch. Been there & done that.

I know a guy that owns a tranny shop. He would probably let me do it my self. $200 tops. So he would have to mess with it alot because of the new converter? Keeping the stock one is fine? Maby ill just go with Katzkin leather.

I had a bitch of a time with the lock up. Even when my truck was at Vortech in early 2011 they had a hard time getting the 6L80E to work right with the stock converter, they had the truck for 4 months. They ended up using Hp Tuners to get it working right. At the time I put the 2800 stall triple disc in, EFI Live didn't have the support to make it work so Hp tuners was used again. The problem was the converter would bounce in and out of lock up. It got sorted out now and locks up as soon as it drops into 3rd and stays locked even at wot. Occasionally I notice in manual mode on de-accel in 4th it bounces in and out still which I hope to cure in the spring when the snow is gone.

Do stalls help with the 6l80 as much as they do with a 4l60/80 or are they not as noticible with the shorter gear spacing of the 6-speeds?
