Default security relearn?

I just replaced my steering column on my 08. I used my old wiring harness and ignition switch "block". Now it won't start and the security MIL is on. I tried to do a security relearn procedure and no go yet. Any thoughts.

If you mess up the relearn, you have to start it over again. IIRC, you have to cycle through it like 5 times and the light should go out on the 5th time, then you can start it. How many times did you cycle?

5 times? I kept thinking it was 3 cycles. Maybe that's why. Does the SES light usually stay on too? Mine is.

I got it! I'm an idiot. I took the column cover off again for a look see, and I forgot to plug in the smaller wire plug to the ignition switch. This helped it start a lot!
