Rear HVAC vents
#1
Ok, so in GMT900 crew cab trucks with a center console, the console has vents to direct air to the rear of the vehicle. In Suburbans and Tahoes, there are vents in the headliner. However, in a crew cab truck with the front bench, no air appears to be directed to the rear of the vehicle apart from the middle vent in the dash if you can aim it to assist your rear passengers with their comfort level. Has anybody come up with a good solution for this? I really like the Tahoe's setup (GM should have done this in all the trucks from the get-go as well, imho) but that is probably a pipe dream, as I haven't ever seen that swap. Lemme know what you gents come up with.

the GMT900s don't come with vents for the rear in the center console. Only the avalanches do... apparently GM said that the AC in the new trucks is sufficient for the whole truck... which is BS... specially not in PHX AZ.

I live in Yuma, and I've driven a couple people around in the backseat in the summer and it did seem that they were A/C-deprived. That was with the front middle seat down and the middle vent aimed to the rear. I can't imagine how warm it would be back there with six people on a 120-degree July day.

sorry u are correct there are floor vents... those suck anyways... ive been looking at the possibility of swapping out my center console for one out of an avalanche with the vents but haven't found any good priced ones. as far as the ones with the bench seat in the front im not sure. but i wish GM would have added some sort of vent that would aim the air to the top.

Yeah, the Tahoes have them in the ceiling and they're perfect. I see no reason why those weren't installed in the crew cab trucks; I can't even tell that there is any air directed to the rear down low.
