NNBS tranny temp with tru cool

Nobody I know of is running the bypass up here.

Yeah I'm trying to move back to MI (I'd be going to Sault Ste Marie) so I wanted to clear that up before I do anything I might regret once I get back to the cold. Thanks

I've got a smaller tru-cool and my temps don't even get that high.

Now THAT brings back some cold memories. I spent two winters up there in the Air Force way back when. My '69 Dodge R/T with the 440 Magnum ran fine without a bypass ....

Runs 140's-150's here all day in 95-100 degree heat. Hottest it's gotten was Saturday few wot runs got 168

Ditch the bypass, it does not fully open until the fluid reaches 180 degrees...so your temps will always be in the high 170's to 190's. I ran the bypass this past winter and it still ran too hot for my liking, tore that thing out and temps are back where they should be.

Sounds like the bypass will probably solve the problem, but thinking outloud here, did you mount it directly behind the solid chrome part of the grill? That may be blocking a good amount of direct airflow to it.
