Default NNBS 4L60E to 4l80E Swap

I've been reading up on the swaps and it seems they are all GMT-800s. Is it possible to swap from a 4L60E to a 4L80E in a GMT-900? Is the TCM located in the same place on a recent manufactured vehicle with 4L60E and 4L80E?

It is possible on the GMT-900 to swap from a 60e to an 80e. I and several others have performed the swap. The TCM on the 60e trucks is located inside the driver side frame rail just behind the radiator and below the electrical center.

Thanks for the reply. What year/vehicle (I need 4X4) do I need to swap with? Does anyone sell a crossmember?

There are a couple threads on how to do it. Its pretty much the same from the nbs just wiring is different. I'm not 100% but I have read that the nnbs trucks have 1350 u-joints from the factory also.

I ended up finding a few posts where people said they got the swap done with no problems. I'll probably end up using the Frost harness. Does anyone know where I can get an EFI Live 4L80 stock tune?

What year is your truck, 2010, maybe some 2009's, the mechanical installation is a breeze, however, the wiring is very involved.
If you want all the factory functions to operate correctly, door locks, dash disply, etc.

Late 2009 MY. I'm wanting to keep all of the factory functions. Will I have to stay with the 4L60E?
