New to me 2011 GMC Sierra
#1
A few years ago I had a 2007 NNBS SIlverado Z71 4x4 with the 5.3l. I sold it and got a Pontiac G8 GT. Loved both the truck and the car. I recently sold the G8 and got back into a NNBS. This time a GMC, my first ever. It is a 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 4x4 with a 5.3l and only 13k miles!!
The truck came with a ARE topper and bedrug, which I am trying to sell now. since I dont want it. and chrome chrome chrome. I am slowly getting rid of the chrome with the intended look of being all black.
I noticed the Sierra rides much more bouncy/floaty than my SIlverado and the the steering is sloppy. i dont feel like im as in control of the Sierra as i was with my Silverado, the power is lacking too which is odd cause i drove practically the same truck but from 2007 and that truck seems much more put together and solid.

If it has z71 then it has suspension. To my knowledge the trucks were never offered with a z71 appearance package that was only available on Yukon Tahoe and . Put some bilsteins on it and it will be day and night difference. As for the lack of power some just go together right but a tune will do wonders for you.

Congrats on the new truck, pretty low mileage!
If it's a Z71 it likely has the Rancho shocks on it, I never like those and always thought they were way to bouncy. If you're looking to adjust your height either up or down at all, I was very happy with the Belltech adjustable struts which can go from -2"/+2" in .5" increments.

thanks guys for the info! I have been looking for those Bilsteins, just waiting for the fronts to come off backorder. I want to level the front and thats about it. I swear the steering feels looser than my other NNBS Silverado.
Im also looking to get a black front upper bumper, black steps, and black rear bumper caps. I have always liked the all black look, thats how my Camaro is too.
I'll look at a tune, we have a few good tuners here in the Tampa FL area, but i dont plan on running premium gas.

Before u get a tune. Fill the tank with high octane and dog the crap out of the truck for the whole tank. Hwy trips are better. It may need a good blow out to get the air fuel flowin better. I got my 2010 silvarado with 22400 with a 5.3 a while back. It was a slouch too.. after I blew it out it came alive like it should be.

Congrats on the new truck!!!
Its funny hearing you say its " the power is lacking too which is odd cause i drove practically the same truck ". My boss has 4 chevy trucks. a 00 z71 5.3,07 2wd 5.3 ECSB,08 5.3 ECSB and a 2013 5.3 4x4 CCSB. The older trucks all have 3.73's and the new one has 3.42's. He swears the older 5.3/4l60's run sooooo much better then his new 5.3/6l80. I drove his and I does seem different with the 6l80.
