Why LS9 for a turbo? That's a terrible choice with its huge exhaust bias.

I agree, that cam is not optimal at all for a turbo setup.

Lingenfelter recommendes it and has been using a similar cam on turbo cars for years.

I dont doubt that as that cam is designed for top end, where as a truck really needs some bottom. I believe the GT-7 was very similar to the LS9 Cam, whatever the cam they even quit making due to it being so close to the LS9 cam. Then again these are all just opinions, whatever you chose I imagine it will run good.

Ive never been much of a fan of their cams for our trucks. I was extremely underwhelmed by the gt2-3 in my old LQ4. No low end, dead mid range and woke up at about 4000. Less exhaust bias and at the very least a narrower LSA will help will low/mid range tq. Its hard to deny the results stock48 has had with his little baby straight cams. High 9s on a stock LQ4, rcsb 4wd with a 76mm all with a giant 212/212 112 cam. Seems a lot of people have reported crappier gas mileage too with the LS9 which goes to show how inefficient it is down low.

Bad gas mileage??? F that! I'm all about power and efficiency. What do you guys suggest then to keep as much $$$ in my pocket @ the gas pumps? I'm looking to do the 6L80e swap and the Trick turbo system soon and maybe go down to 3.08's soon after.

You need a cam thats going to keep good cylinder pressure down low. Really the only easy way to do that is keep the exhaust bias low. My mileage was never that great with the gt2-3 as what it shouldve been. Might shoot stock48 and a PM and see what he says. I dont think you can get 3.08 gears in a 14 bolt, highest Ive found are 3.42s.

3.42s will likely be better for mpg around town than the 3.08s anyway, and at that point you may as well keep the 3.73s because you'll never recoup the cost of regearing your 4x4 in the fuel savings. Just my $.02.

my mileage definitely went down with the LS9 cam. averaged about 17 mixed city/hwy, now its more like 15 mixed city/hwy. it does scream up top though.
