That "motor sound" you (and others hear) at 1500-2000 is drone. Does it make your ears ring a tiny bit? Or other vibrations in the truck? (rattling coins in cupholder) make your ears feel like they need to pop?

Put a corsa on and that'll go away. You'll hear the sound move from in the cab, to where it exits.

Dont get me wrong it sounds reallly nice right now. You can definitely tell it's not stock. I want just a few more db at idle and cruising out of it than what I have now. But I'm not swapping mufflers again if the cat doesn't do it then at that point it is what it is.

I didn't gut the 3rd cat on mine like I was going to do.

I cut it out and welded v-band flanges on both ends and then took some stainless 3.5 pipe and welded v-band clamps on it also. I put the straight pipe in and man oh man do she sound nice now. Really nice burble at idle, can def tell it has pipes while accelerating moderately and she sounds like a b-29 when at WOT. At the same time should the need ever arise in the future I can pop the after cat back in and shes a legal beagle again.

where is this THIRD cat??? i have the manifolds.... 2 cats in the Y pipe... then it comes together to the 3.5" cat back where there is a vibration absorber... then a straight pipe to the muffler... then it had a resonator after the axle....

i cut the old muffler and everything behind it... used the factory tail pipe to make a turndown and welded that to the muffler... welded a hanger to the tailpipe and then use a clamp to clamp the front of the muffler

There isn't a third cat on mine. 2 in the Y, Muffler, resonator. That's it.

Mine is an 11 model. It is about three inches infront of the flange for the catback.
