Default modded air box.. pics inside

didnt want to hack up new stuff but said screw it.. Cut down the bottom base plate and left just enough for the mounting hardware etc. Then cut everything out i could from the box to match the bottom plate and everywhere else and still ridged enough to hold together. Already have the Airaid intake tube so from this mod my motor should be getting all the air it should need. Best part is after everything is bolted back up it all still looks factory besides the intake tube

I thought the stock airbox sucked air from between the fender and wheel well? you cut open the bottom of that box, so now it can suck in the warmer engine bay air?

It's not getting hot air, there's still plastic blocking it from the engine bay. It sucks it from the bottom and up from the bumper cover and behind the headlight/grill. I still left the back side facing the engine. Plus is so far away from the engine and it's a big open area so where it's not gonna get crazy hot air.
