Default ly6 6.0

So ive tryed to get a few answers to some questions i have and some advice on my build but i cant seem to get any one to help me out here. im swaping my 4.8 for a ly6 6.0 out of a 2500 i sent it to the machine shop and had it bored .020 over and had cam bearing installed ive searched and read all over this fourm and its hard to tell when people are being sarcastic or not so im not real sure on what to do? I hear that its better to use my 799 heads on the ly6 do i have to have them ported and polished or will they work as is what cam will work good with my stock converter but also not kill my top end? what injectors should i go with from tsp as thats where i get all of my stuff from? how do i go about getting a tune for it as its my daily driver can nelson , wheatly or black bear send me a base tune for it or should i just tow it to the dyno shop i use? im sure ill come up with alot more questions as this goes by so i know this might make some of you guys mad with me asking these questions but thats what this fourm is for to help guys like me so thank you guys alot joe-

the heads don't HAVE to be ported and polished but if you got the money then definitely do it!
as for a cam, call TSP and talk to them about what they suggest. I know on the website the TSP220R claims to not need an after market stall but I know I've had a lot of run on and surging issues with mine and that's with a 3000 stall
why are you against getting a touch higher stall? you can still tow and do everything normally with it!
Injectors...I'll let somebody else chime in
Black bear is probably one of the best email tuners out there, I told him the mods I was doing and he sent a start up tune and afterwards only had to tweak a few things and then as mentioned earlier it took him a few tries to get the idle surging and run on.
a dyno tune will definitely be your best option but its more expensive

well im not against running a higher stall I just don't wanna have to run a 3500 stall or any thing and when I give it gas it rump to 3500 but im not experienced in that so maybe ill go that route but the stall will have to come after the motor is done and running. I don't have the money to get them ported at the moment and the 799 heads are on my 4.8 that is my daily driver so itll pretty much be pulling the 4.8 swapping the necessary parts and droping the 6.0 in and if I get the tune figured out and bigger injectors firing it up? I just need a tune thatll be safe driving the 6.0 till I can get to the dyno. thanks for the help AUTOT3K

My 4.8 has a 220 in it and no surge with 3200 stall. I was going to slap the 220 from my 4.8 in my 6.0 but going custom route now so im no help there. Im using the stock 317 heads on my 370 and the 799 are basically going to shoot the compression ratio up a little. You should be fine just transferring the heads over to the 6.0 whether you port them or not.

Circle D offers a 2400-2600 stall converter which would be very streetable, however I daily drive my 3000 stall and its very well mannered, its not like it revs to 3000 and "dumps the clutch" or anything, when i'm leaving a light at a normal accel its not revving up to 3000. maybe check out some youtube vids cause I used to not want a higher stall either but after I saw how they handle I kinda regret not getting a 3600!

As far as the heads use the 823 L92 heads. They flow a little better than the 799s
