Lost second gear today
so what should I do? put my stock converter back in, take out the edge and take it in for warranty work. Or should I look for a 4l65e or a 4l70e from a local salvage yard. Or should I get it rebuilt local.
|
You need to have the converter split open and cleaned our regardless.
|
yea I know. It sucks because I just put it in last weekend
|
i say do a 4l80e.
i hope your dealership aint assholes like mine was. they find ways to void stuff... techs must not like getting paid for sure... rather take a chance of the customer paying or not.. then make the same money |
I'd swap the stock converter back in and get them to fix it under warranty..

Just make sure all the wirning is in correct locations and clips. I don't know how close they'll pay attention.. If you have any rounded bolts stick some new ones in.
|
dont they have blue paint on some of the bolts to make sure they dont back out? mine did.
im scared mines gonna blow up too, ive got a 3200 stall, shift kit, servos waiting to go in... |
I diddent see any paint just locktite. I am gonna try next week I will let you guys know how it goes.
|
I'm sure they will try to bullshit you in some way. Just keep pushing for it and if they try to make you pay, go get it rebuilt or a better trans.
