Default installed headers, got ?s

just came back from my first test drive and have a couple of questions, i bought some band clamps for the collectors and y pipe and the rest i used the u bolt clamps and it leaks through the band clamps only im gonna bolt the u bolts tomorro to see if it stops leaking. As for my question, Is the tranny suppose to hit hard between gears? It kicks like a freaken mule! i did a 30roll and chirped 2nd, and thats with stock tune, tranny, intake, exhaust. Im loving the headers just worried about the tranny.

I can't see how the headers are going to make the transmission shift harder, but as you increase power to the wheels the harder it's going to be on the trans...obvious, right?
Have you done a shift kit and servo upgrade yet? I'd do that and a aux cooler

no shift kit, no servo, my dad and i were like what in the word is up with the tranny?!?! you may have a point on the power to the wheels, but it just seems too much power for just longtubes and catless 3" y

I can't see why it would shift so hard either. But I'd get a tune and do as Trever1t recommended. Mine would make a loud explosion sound during WOT shifts until I got it tuned.
Too much raw fuel was igniting in the pipe.

after hours and hours of driving or better yet flooring it, my truck finaly got used to the new headers, i bolted up the u bolts and have no leak what so ever....but i am dissapointed that the hard shifting is gone, i got used to the tire chirping shifting, so now shift kit and servo are my next upgrade.

Im going to have my Y pipe welded together. The clamps that came with my OBX sucks. Glad you got your leak fixed.

I'm running band clamps to connect the headers to the y pipe and never had leaking probs. Good thing you found an easy fix.
