How is the center cap "gap" filled?

Does the original plastic piece fit in the aluminum?
Does a center cap from an Acadia or similar vehicle fit?

Or is everyone leaving the center gap empty?

I was told any 3.25" gm center cap would fit, but i bought some for mine and they were no where near fitting properly. So i dont know if i just purchased the wrong caps or what, but after buying those and painting them i gave up on finding some, for now..
Their was a girl on here not long ago with these wheels looking for a center cap cause she lost one, so maybe their are some that fit i dunno..

Being a newbie to this Forum, I have a couple of question about decladding the GMC wheels. First of all, can this be done with the tires mounted? Can't tell if the valve stems are seated against the chrome cladding or on the actual wheel surface. After you cleaned the wheels with paint stripper, what is the finish like on the wheels(rough, smooth casting, etc.)? Did you feel they were presentable enough to use after the paint stripper was used to clean them up? I just want a nice set of plain silver wheels. Thanks for any info.

N8farkas you can remove the cladding with it still attached to a tire, I think it would actually be easier that way

After they are cleaned up you can see around the holes for the lug nuts some of the clear comes off the wheel with the foam, if it weren't for that they would be easily presentable as they sit

Yes you can declade them with te tires

I had one polished and cleared, stripped another one but been to busy to finish.
Considering selling them for $700 as is with tires
