I want to install the 40k on my 6l80e and was curious if anyone has any pictures or brackets? I bought the kit when I installed it on my 4l60e, but now that I have a new vehicle, I want to install one as well. Just curious. I did install a new PML pan as a start...

I also made sure I installed the bigger filter as well.

Is the equivelant "PML" pan and larger filter available for the 4l60e? If so, can you give me the part numbers? or perhaps a link to where I could find them? Thanks! V1

Go to yourcovers.com they should have what you are looking for. Don't think they make a bigger filter option for the 4l60e.

Yeah you're right. Don't look like finding one to work with the deeper pan I want to run will be a problem. That's a plus I suppose.

Thanks for the link.

My filter just has a bigger opeNing but the height is stock same as the stock 6l80e because the pan has stand offs. So you just need a good stock 4l60e filtran filter and you are good to go. The stand offs make up for the height.

You probably already installed it, but just in case...

Don't waste you money chasing a problem that isn't there.

When you are forcing the transmission to work beyond its original designed mechanical limits, making it run 50°F cooler doesn't do jack ****. At all. You think an output shaft breaks because it got too hot? You think the clutches burn up because you didn't have sufficient cooling? No.
You are putting more power through the components. You need stronger materials, or more clutch surface area, or more force (line pressure) applied to the clutches.

I would imagine for people like me who are stock, keeping it cooler would help. I don't plan on putting 900 HP through a tranny only made for 450.

For what it's worth my 09 sees transmission temp in the 130s-highway and 150s in town with the Circle D converter and the Trucool 40 on an 80 degree day. During the winter I can usually commute 15 minutes before I even reach the minimum temperature for TC lockup. Stock I would regularly see 190-200.

If your really concerned with trans temps get this cooler. Same width as a tru cool 40k but with twice the height! It's a factory option f 250 trans cooler
