But It would have probally been smart of me to go ahead and replace the lifters. One thing i have had on my mind...My truck has the all aluminum block, would aluminum dissipate noises better then the steel block?.....
One more thing i wish they would replace the seats in my truck...they collect lint and look awfull. I have the black cloth seats.
I don't know about the lifters themselves but I do know the lobes those 8 ride on have different lift specs than the rest of the lobes. Not sure why exactly, and its not much (few thou).

Aluminum doesn't hide noise as much as cast iron would (if going from iron to aluminum intake often you would hear more valvetrain noise, etc) but not sure about blocks themselves...would guess they would transfer noise more easily but it depends on the material used, design, etc.

There was a TSB about the lint on the seats. They are working on a replacement material I beleive, I'll see if I can find it for you.

Here it is, I never saved first version as it dealt with black cloth seats only (my interior is titanium) and it referenced changing out the seat covers, but this is the latest one...looks like they are still working on a fix of some sort.

I kinna think its something to do with the aluminum block in the 5.3's but if the 6.0's are doing it to then its probally a defect in the lifters.

FYI, The 6.0's in the 1/2 ton GMT900's (L76) are all aluminum too.

Mine only does it on really cold starts and it goes away within a minute. Unless it gets worse, I am not going to worry about it.

Thats me, I think it has alot to do with the weather, It gets real noticable when i start it up in the mornings if i dive it to work, Coldest it has been here is about 15deg F. I should be able to tell more about it when warm weather hit. If i leave it in my heated garage, on startup you will heard about 1 or 2 ticks and all is fine after that. Truck has 12,5xx miles on it now. By the way nice truck... mine is a white Crew Cab Z71

My 6.0 is noisy on cold starts, but it rarely gets cold here. I've only noticed it on mornings in the 30s
