but it's fun, if I can get some kind of 2pc drive shaft or to find a way to keep my shaft from rubbing the bed I might hit out that way

I have a built one piece that is a lot larger in diameter than the stocker and I don't hit anywhere on a 4/7 drop.
I used to hit the cross memeber, but Nelson Perforamnce notched in and bought me about 3" extra clearance there.
Cal-Tracs hold the pinion angle more in check now.

Traction bars will keep the pinion angle in check and should keep your driveshaft away from the cross members and bed.
