i have an 08 wt 4x4 with a 4.8 i want to swap in a 6.0 but wonder is it just drop in and go or are there other things needed to do the swap? How's my tran's going to hand the 6.0 i dont want to do anything to it so it's still reliable just looking for some power without going crazy. Any Advice would be great!

You'll need an updated tune for it to run well but other than that it's a drop and go affair.

IIRC there was a "long" and "short" crank version of the 6.0 in like 99 or so but I would stay away from those anyway because you need the later 58x reluctor wheel.

You have to run a gen IV (58x) motor. Can not run a gen III (24x) motor unless you swap front covers, drill block for knock sensors, change reluctor ring *an a few odds and ends i may be missing*
Install engine, segment swap a 6.0 tune into the 4.8 ecm, bam you are up and running. The truck will not care what motor is in it as long as the ecm can control it

after what year did they switch to the 58x reluctor wheel? I'd like to find the all aluminum 6.0 they make!
