Im sure you answered this already but how many miles on it? How hard do you run it? (shouldnt matter if built right) How many WOT per tank?

Magnuson moss is your friend it has to be proven that the tune caused a direct related failure. Tune wont lunch a lifter.
In the US you are right, but the OP is in Canada and does not have the Magnusson-Moss act to fall back on.

Could you make recording and post it?You know anyone with a scope that can look in the combustion chambers? If signs of detnation you know they will then be drilling down on the ECM

I could get it scoped if I needed to.
I checked my tunes with hpt logs and an otc scanner and no knock retard, timing in low 20's in wot throttle, but you never know.

I'm still working on this.
After a fair bit of research, I have concluded, that if I put my tune to stock, then do a
"read entire" and then a "write entire" my tune will not be exposed.
I have my origional calibration numbers and will confirm them on a friends tech2 before going back to the dealer.

I thought so as well.

Your first link is for a "Retrieving Calibrations From a Global A Vehicle" ie Camaro
which is not the same as a tech2. Global A is laptop based.

The process in the latter part of the 2nd link is for the dealer, using a tech2, to take a snap shoot of the current calibration numbers and send it to the warranty police.
That snap shot is for the current calibration, and if the numbers match what is supposed to be in the truck based on the vin, then you should be ok.
There is no indication that there is any logging of previous tunes or calibration changes. It appears they look at the current stuff.
Also, there is inconsistancy in how dealers approach the tune issue, some check every vehicle with internal engine issues for correct calibration, some check none, some check suspect vehicles.
I got this info and a tool to get my correct cal #'s from some Gm guys on the HPT forums

I am hoping to confirm this on a tech2 today and will post up what I find.

Well, got it checked with tech2.

First checked it with a tune, 3 numbers different

Then stock tune with codes turned off for headers and no speed limited, 2 numbers different.

Stock tune, just wrote calibration only, not full write, all ok.

The guy looked in the tech2 to see if there are any calibration logging menus and didn't see anything.
But, the tech2 can be networked and there are other functions and menus available that don't show up on stand alone mode.

So, there is conflicting info around on this subject, but in my case at least, the codes are back to stock. If they wanted to look deeper, they may be able to, but I can't say for sure.

So, I'm back to the dealer to see if they will look alittle deeper into my engine noise.
