Default Drop struts or spindles?

I am wanting to drop my 2008 Silverado 2WD 2" on the front.

Which is the best way to go: Struts or Spindles?

Would I have to have a realignment with either?

Spindles require you to cut your balljoints down to fit a 17" wheel
Struts are a nice way to drop it.
Coils is another way but over time could lose its spring rate and sag
Coil relocators is cheaper than all 3 options above and drop it 2" along with you not trimming any balljoints nor alignment issues.

Yes anything you do to the front end as far as height changes requires an alignment

2 inch springs is what your looking for less money and less work to install them

I installed 2" drop spindles on my dads 2010 crew, and it rides great and handles even better. Had to cut ball joint studs even with 18" wheels.

I had drop springs and couldn't stand the ride with 22's I removed them after a month!! Spindles struts or coil relocators are the only way I would suggest to retain ride quality.

Being a longer wheel base truck I would avoid the spindles if you are only looking to go 2" lower, they change your turning radius. I had Belltech Street Performance adjustable struts on my crew cab and loved them. I had a Z71 with the Rancho struts (OEM) and absolutely hated how bouncy they were.. the Belltech SPs gave it a "comfortably firm" ride. Plus they were $180 shipped and didn't even require breaking any ball joints loose or removing the hub from the spindle.
