Does a 6.2L need a catch can?

Default Does a 6.2L need a catch can?

Does a 6.2L need a catch can. If so whats the best one available and are they easy to install. Thanks

I wouldnt say need, but they are nice to have. They do help in the long run.

If you read from previous threads on this, it's not hard to install one and the cost is pretty small aswell. Most cans are 20-40 bucks and then you just need hoses and perhaps fab a small mount.

Rx and mike Norris make great bolt on cans. I can't believe how much oil mine collects.

If you want to keep the oil out of the intake and off the valves and pistons, then yes you need a catch can. Mike Norris on mine, does a decent job but oil still gets by. I was thinking about adding a cooler in line to help the oil fall to the bottom a little better.

Yes , all the LS engines do !

I have one on my Denali and it does catch oil , about a teaspoon around oil change time .

I would definitely suggest it, you would be surprised what it will catch. We've got a new catch can out that has been working great for us (easy to empty as well, just unscrews in the middle). Here it is on an '09 5.3L from a couple weeks ago,
